The NTBG breadfruit germplasm repository provides unique opportunities to study and better understand this important staple crop. Our research is directed at conserving breadfruit diversity, identifying nutrient-rich, productive cultivars for food security, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, reforestation, and economic development, conducting foundational studies to support product development, ethnobotany, and more.
Scientific studies has been carried out by staff researchers and in collaboration with scientists and students at universities, botanical gardens, and other institutions in the USA, Canada, Europe, and Pacific Islands.
