Fall Internship Program

This work-study internship is designed for college- and university-level students and other adults interested in expanding their knowledge of botanical garden operations for career purposes. Interns will work side-by-side with staff caring for and learning about the plant collections.

Tropical Botany at The Kampong

Tropical Botany is an extensive course of study in the biology and systematics of tropical plants. Conducted in collaboration with Florida International University and the International Center for Tropical Botany at The Kampong, it is usually held in the summer.

Botanical Conservation Collections From Discovery to Restoration

Botanical Conservation Collections is a virtual expedition to discover and describe Hawaiian and Pacific Flora; documenting, managing, and caring for herbarium and living collections; and their use to inform conservation planning and restore endangered species. Taught as a hybrid summer course by NTBG staff for the University of Hawaii at Manoa every other year, next time summer, 2025 (1 week onsite on Kauai, 5 weeks online).
