Primavera is a large drought deciduous tree up to 25 m in height. The trunk grows tall and straight before branching and the bark is white. The leaves are oppositely arranged on the stems and are palmately compound with 5 - 7 leaflets that are 8 - 20 cm long. The showy flowers are bright yellow and tend to flower all at once just before the rainy season. The flowers are born in loose clusters and the corollas are bell-shaped and approximately 6 cm long with 5 round lobes. The fruit is a long bean-like capsule about 20 cm long and filled with many papery winged seeds.
