Lower Limahuli Valley. Up Hib wai han gulch. First main gulch on right if youre coming down from the main falls. On NW facing moderate slope, on left side slopes of left ridge from gulch. Cant access that gulch if you went towards the left in side gulch from main stream - too steep. About four feet up from stream, on bank. About 10 feet down the slope from A 0026.
Plant Description:
Tree branching into three main stems about four feet from base. Ground running trunk into stream, where 10 feet away, connects with two other, seemingly separate but connected trees - one clump with 5 main stems and one clump with a single stem. HIB WAI HAN LIM A 0027.
Habitat:
Wet, predominately non-native, forest. On moderate slope. Partial canopy. Clump of Hib wai han in about a 10 foot radius.
Associated Species:
W/ Psidium guajava, Clidemia hirta, Dicranopteris linearis, Cinnamomum burmannii, Cyclosorus parasiticus, Cordyline fruticosa, Schefflera actinophylla, Freycinetia arborea, Musa sp.
Comments:
This is a HSPC focal species. Plant was flagged and tagged on clump with three main stems, on bank about four feet from stream, with number HIB WAI HAN LIM A 0027. One voucher specimen and DNA material collected.
