Up eastern side gulch of main Hanakapiai stream, before Hanakapiai falls. Towards the back of gulch, on the left side then just to the right of ridge where 0001 is located. Down slope, at bottom of gulch, from 0021 and 0022. HIB WAI HAN IAI B 0023
Plant Description:
Large shrub to small tree, about 30 feet tall. Three main shoots from base, then five at breast height. In bud, flower and immature fruit. Branches covered in bryophytes and lichen.

Population Area:
10-100 m2
Habitat:
Growing with mixed native and non-native plant species, in stream with water and rocks.
Associated Species:
W/ Psidium guajava, Clidemia hirta, Freycinetia arborea, Pisonia sandwicensis, Lantana camara, Antidesma platyphyllum, Cyrtandra sp.
Comments:
This is a HSPC focal species. Plant was flagged and tagged directly with number HIB WAI HAN IAI B 0023. Two voucher specimens (one sterile), DNA material and seven cuttings collected (Accession# 20160513).
