Plant Description:
Herb of 6 ft. along roadside, locally common; branched above stems pale green w/ reddish overlay; blade matte dk green above, grey-green below; bracts pale green with reddish apex tepals faintly pinkish-white, labellum white w/ yellow in throat; in fruit the calyx and ovary apex dark red; a single bract below ovary, ovary splits along 3 sutures, seeds black; inflorescence elongates in fruit.
Habitat:
Secondary/ruderal vegetation mixed with areas of agroforest.
Associated Species:
Terminalia, Horsefieldia, Macaranga, Premna, Cyathea, Citrus, Nephrolepis, Adenanthera, Pipturus, and Colubrina.
