Locality:
Kalalau Valley. Eastern most sub-valley. Toward the bottom of the valley about 30 min up trail from the beach and above main river. Fruit coll. from several trees along trail. Ground where seeds falling hard and compacted.
Plant Description:
Tree 15 ft. tall. New lvs varous shades of red and pink with sparse hairs esp on leaf margin. Older leaves dull light green w/ Fruits along stem green, yellow, and fully mature light orange. Seeds 2-3 parts golden brown. Bark dark. Outter corolla pubescent, cream color, w/ connate pubescent green calyx. NTBG acc. #090229
Habitat:
Weedy disturbed area w/ lots of goat sign.
Associated Species:
W/ Psydrax, Psidium guayava, Furcraea foetida, and Aleurites moluccana.
