McBryde Garden lies in the southern part of the Hawaiian ahupua‘a (land division) of Lāwa‘i, originally extending along the Lāwa‘i Stream from the Kapalaoa Range to Lāwa‘i Bay.

Discover tropical plants that sustain life as you venture into McBryde Garden. Step into the world’s largest collection of Hawaiian native plants. Encounter rare species, explore a breadfruit agroforest, journey through the Hawaiian Life Canoe Garden, and so much more. Please note that even though this tour is self-guided, it is a fixed 2.5-hour experience.
Reservations are encouraged. Tours often sell out in advance. All tours require a shuttle from the Visitor Center into the garden, included with every tour reservation. Please note that closed toe shoes or secure hiking sandals (with straps over ankles and toes) are required for safety purposes. All self guided tours are 2.5 hours.

The Lāwaʻi Gardens Visitor Center and Gift Shop is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 am – 4:30 pm.
