National Tropical Botanical Garden and Kauai Community College’s Earth Matters public lecture series continues on Tuesday, October 9th at 5:30 p.m. with a special film screening of We, the Voyagers: Our Vaka.

This 57-minute documentary by Dr. Mimi George and Meph Wyeth examines the history and revival of ancient seafaring and navigation by the Polynesians of Taumako in the Solomon Islands. The use of ancient design and tool and materials grown on their island offer insights that are both authentic and rich.

The film will be presented at the KCC Campus Center Cafeteria (behind the Performing Arts Center), Kauai Community College, 3-1910 Kaumualii Hwy., Lihue, Hawaii 96766. For questions about accessibility or to request special accommodations, contact: Margaret Clark at (808) 332-7324 Ext 225 at least days in advance.
