Costus is the wonderful world of spiral ginger. Its bright green foliage spirals around bamboo like stalks giving yhe name of this species. Costus productus produces a short cylindrical red cone with long lasting orange flowers emerging one at a time and used as a cut flower. Very impressive!
Costus productus comes from Peru.
Costus productus has edible flowers and with its sweet, subtle fragrance and flavour makes an ideal garnish for salads.
