Plant Description:
Shrub 1-3 m tall, erect, with up-arching laterals, leaves soft thin chartaceous, above bright green, below pale green and soft hairy, calxy and flower green, in fruit tinged with magenta red on lower half between the ribs, petals light orange yellow (Ridgeway Pl. III). eye color madder brown (Ridgeway pl. XIII), formed by 3 lines between the veins.
Habitat:
Edge of Acacia koa forest.
Associated Species:
In thicket of Styphelia tameiameiae, Wikstroemia oahuensis, Lantana camara, and Scaevola.
