Plant Description:
Tree 5-8m tall; leaves 5-8inches long by 3-5 inches wide. Flowers wmall, white; fruits greenish yellow, turning white when ripe. N. V. Weipwul (Pohnpeian)
Ethnobotanical Notes:
Trunk: Ceremonial plant. Cut young tree with the diameter of 2-4 inches by 5-7 feet long, and carve slot shaper at the end so that it can easily break sakau plant into 4 separate parts. This is done only indide the nahs.

Medicial Use Notes:
roots: Antisyphilitic. Cut off the roots, clean and scrape off outer layer, squeeze into 1/2 gallon of water. This should be drunk for 4 days if it cures earlier, if not must drink 4 more days.
Wounds. Clean and scrape outerlayer and put in coconut fiber with some scraped coconut meat and squeeze on the wound and open cut on a person's body to close. This treatment should be repeated until the cut is closed and cured
fruits: Panacea. Collect old fruits and place them in a plastic bag, then place them in the sun, and wait until you see water inside the bag. Take 1 tsp everyday to cure heart disease, diabetes, kidney problems, and infected skin.
