Rancho El Jabali, 20 km (airline) NNW of Colima in the SW foothills of the Volcan de Colima; La Atarjea Canyon, 1.7 km SE of turnoff to Hda. San Antonio.
Plant Description:
Scarce 2 m shrub in forest on slope; brick red corolla lobes, greenish white tube.
Habitat:
Humid montane cloud forest. Clay soils on steep volcanic slopes.
Associated Species:
W/ Ficus, Celtis monoica, Prunus, Chiococca alba, etc.
