Major Threats: habitat degradation by goats, competition with non-native plant taxa such as Lantana camara, Erigeron karvinskianus, Rubus rosifolius, Kalanchoe pinnata, Psidium guajava, Setaria parviflora, and Andropogon glomeratus, coffee twig borer, and the loss of reproductive vigor as the result of limited numbers of existing individuals.
Comments: as the three Flueggea in this gulch appear to have extraordinary resistance to twig borer, it is suggested that this population be used for pollen collection and as an important source of seed.
