Plant Description:
Understory herb, rhizome subterranean, producing 1-2 tripartite leaves per plant. Infructescence erect, to 1.8 m tall. Fruit green, globose, ribbed, seeds light brown. Common, naturalized. Samoan name: masoa
Habitat:
Littoral forest.
Associated Species:
With Terminalia samoensis, Thespesia populnea, Hernandia nymphaeifolia, Cocos, Barringtonia asiatica, Pandanus tectorius, Tournefortia argentea, and herbaceous understory.
