Plant Description:
Herb with single tripartite leav c. 1.5 m tall, petiole 0.8 m long (ultimate parts of blade collected). Inflorescence 1.4 m tall, peduncle green, ribbed, bracts & tepals green w purple margins, filaments purple. Naturalized in forest understory and rock ledges. Vernacular name: mwekimwek.
Habitat:
Secondary wet forest.
Associated Species:
Canopy with Calophyllum inophyllum, Cynometra ramiflora, Ficus prolixa, Artocarpus altilis, Hibiscus tiliaceus, Adananthera pavonina, understory with Pandanus patina, Aglaia, many ferns.
