Plant Description:
Small, stout tree of 10 ft. Lower 1/3 of petiole, inflorescence branches and young stems covered with brown stellate hairs. Pedicels and calyx greenish yellow and covered with dk reddish stellate hairs except for glabrous band along margins of calyx lobes. Insdie of calyx greenish yellow with dk red blotches at junction of calyx lobes. Red band around inside base of calyx. Young buds dk brown pubescent. Lvs glossy green above, dull, paler below, covered with brown stellate hairs. Rec'd from Lae Botanic Garden; coll. Biniguni, Papua New Guinea. NTBG acc. #720818002
