Development Associate - The Kampong

Coconut Grove, Florida

NTBG is now accepting applications for a full-time Development Associate based at the Kampong, in the Coconut Grove, Florida.

The Development Associate is responsible for helping to build and maintain our primary donor bases: The Kampong Board of Governors, Council of Fellows, and members. He/she will be the coordinator for all fundraising events, including Bali Hai. The Development Associate will work with the Office Manager to coordinate effective and consistent communications to The Kampong constituents. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups of people are critical. This position will interface with the Development staff at the NTBG headquarters and will be working with the donor database management system Raisers Edge. The position will require flexibility to accommodate fundraising and/or donor cultivation activities.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have experience with Blackbaud’s Raisers Edge software. Must be able to interact comfortably with the Board, donors, staff, and volunteers and have a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, motivate and effectively work with all constituencies. In addition, a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy is required.

Visitor Center Sales Associate - South Shore Gardens

Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii

NTBG is now accepting applications for a Visitor Center Sales Associate based at the South Shore Visitors Center on Kauai.

This position will be responsible for assisting guests by selling tour tickets and gift shop merchandise. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; greeting guests, taking reservations, fielding questions both in person and via phone, stocking, merchandising and cashiering.Successful candidates must be reliable, guest service oriented, available to work flexible days/hours and have cashiering experience. Must have a High School diploma or GED; and 3 months applicable experience.

Gardener - McBryde Garden

Kalaheo, Kaua'i, Hawai'i

NTBG is now accepting applications for a full-time Gardener based at the McBryde Garden, in the Lawai Valley.

This position requires the skills and/or ability to learn the required skills for practices and procedures of landscape management and maintenance. Qualified applicants will have a strong desire to care for plants and plant collections in a world class botanical garden setting and must possess good communication and teamwork skills. Must have the ability to work extensively in variable weather conditions in a physically demanding capacity.

Visitor Program Food Attendant - South Shore Visitors Center

Koloa, Kaua'i, Hawai'i

NTBG is now accepting applications for two (2) casual Visitor Program Food Attendants.

Seeking individuals to assist with set up, service and tear down of the sunset tour dinner meal. Will also assist with cleaning and helping maintain restroom and other common areas in Allerton and McBryde Gardens. Will train the right person. Must be able to work flexible hours and be capable of multi-tasking. Aloha spirit, attention to detail and ability to work with minimum supervision necessary. Will be exposed to outdoor conditions. Prior food service experience a plus.

Tour Program Manager - South Shore Visitors Center

Koloa, Kaua'i, Hawai'i

NTBG is now accepting applications for a full time Tour Program Manager.

This position is responsible for the development and management of all aspects of the tour program, including tour product development; marketing, promotion and outreach; volunteer engagement; as well as budgeting, forecasting and reporting. This position will also be responsible for all daily operations of the tour program within the Visitor Program, including staff oversight, scheduling, and safety of operations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in the visitor industry with management oversight responsibilities. Demonstrated experience outlining strong organizational and computer skills; hiring and training staff; as well as complying with applicable regulations is required. Must have a current CDL or be able to obtain one within 90 days of employment. Familiarity with reservation systems is a must. Must be able to physically perform tasks, including giving guided tours. Ability to operate in a fast paced constantly changing environment and to work as a team player is essential.

Visitor Program Assistant - Limahuli Garden & Preserve

Haena, Kaua'i, Hawai'i

NTBG is now accepting applications for a casual Visitor Program Assistant at Limahuli Garden & Preserve.

This entry-level position will primarily work in the Visitor Center greeting visitors and selling Garden tours and merchandise.

Duties include opening and closing the Visitor Center, welcoming, assisting and interpreting the Garden to visitors, selling tours and merchandise, running cash register; doing daily accounting of Visitor Program income, keeping the gift shop presentable and appealing to visitors, maintaining clean facilities, including restrooms, and cleaning and restocking Garden water stations. Tour guide training is available for interested candidates.

Previous experience in retail and/or the visitor industry; as well as, practical or formal training in biology or botany, and Hawaiian culture and history is strongly recommended. This position is for two days, Saturdays are required.
