Janet Mayfield returns as President & CEO

Thank you for your unwavering support of NTBG. Today, I am thrilled to share that I have returned to continue serving as President and CEO. I am extremely grateful and overjoyed to be back!

Over the past few months, I’ve witnessed NTBG’s resilience and growth from a new perspective. Under Interim CEO Tami Rollins’s exceptional leadership—and with the passion and dedication of our staff, trustees, fellows, and supporters—our gardens have continued to flourish. Your commitment has meant so much. Thank you!

I am also deeply grateful for the kindness and encouragement you’ve all given me throughout my recovery. Your aloha spirit has been my source of strength and inspiration, and it has renewed my dedication to our shared mission.

As I rejoin the team, I want to honor the tireless work you’ve all done to propel our biocultural conservation initiatives forward and keep our gardens flourishing. I am excited to champion these efforts as we embark on the next chapter of NTBG’s journey. In the months ahead, we will be navigating an important period of leadership transition. As we fill key roles and plan for the future, the Board will begin laying the groundwork for NTBG’s next chapter of executive leadership. During this time, I’ll be working closely with the Board and all of you—bringing forward my knowledge of the organization and deep dedication to its mission—to help guide this process. I’m energized by the possibilities ahead for NTBG.

Mahalo nui loa for your generosity, your passion, and your belief in NTBG. It is an honor to return as President and CEO. If you have any questions or simply want to say “aloha,” please don’t hesitate to reach out.

With warmest aloha and heartfelt thanks,

janet
