Grass to 10m, dbh 15 cm; stem green. Sterile. N.V. pehri [Pohnpeian]
Ethnobotanical Notes:
Fruit. Weapons. Air Gun - take small branch and use for barrel of airgun. The small fruits are used as pellets in local airguns. Put into mouth, soften, put inton airgun and shoot.
Stem. Stake. To stake yams. Old stems, cut, leaves fall off.
Young shoots. Comestible, edible shoots.
Young stems. Hair preparations. Hair tonic. Makes hair to grow thick healthy, shiny, and helps to grow better. Pound the young stems and mix with rehtakai (MB 4237), coconut meat. Squeeze the mix in coconut fibers on the head. Use in AM and PM baths.
