Locality:
National Tropical Botanical Garden in Lawai Valley. McBryde Garden, native Hawaiian section along west side of main road.
Plant Description:
Tree 6 m tall, trunk 20 cm dbh with basal prop roots; crown 5 m across, densely branching, branches horizontal-spreading. Lvs. M-shaped with greenish marginal spines. Female, mature fruiting head broadly ellipsoid, 19 x 17 cm, keys ca. 120, green drying brown. Voucher for DNA study by Sven Buerki, Boise State U.
