Plant Description:
Collected from NTBG890466.002, Grid# Q9. Mature tree at time of collection: height 9.144 meters, diameter at breast height 20.22 centimeters. Leaves deeply dissected to midrib with four pairs of widely separated, narrow lobes with serrated margins. Thick, glossy smooth blade with green-yellow veins. No hairs on upper veins. Profuse appressed reddish hairs on lower veins. Name means hand or branched like coral, refers to the serrated, deeply dissected leaves. Also called Mwe serang, or Weang. Seeded breadfruit are known as Meias with two types: deeply incised leaves (Mei koeng) or entire (Mei chocho). Fruit and male flowers present (July). Refer to Collectors ID ND67.
