Plant Description:
Slender tree 3.5 m tall, bark transversely ridged, fibrous with rank odor. Lvs dark green above, paler beneath. Old inflorescences brown. Locally scare, 2 seen. Phytochemical voucher for U. of Copenhagen (L. Winther).
Habitat:
Metrosideros wet forest.
Associated Species:
Metrosideros polymoropha dominant, also Syzygium sandwicensis, Cheirodendron, understory of Psychotria, Coprosma, invaded by Psidium, Morella, Corynocarpus, Hedychium.
