National Tropical Botanical Garden, McBryde Garden in Lawai Valley. Zingiberales collection near Pump House 6, behind pump keepers cottage, along trail just N of Allerton Garden boundary.
Plant Description:
Rhizomatous perennial herb, pseudostems 5-6 m tall, lvs green, ligule yellow-brown tinged. Infl. basal, subsessile, labellum recurved, red w yellow central stripe, calyx & 3 tepals red-pink, bracts white w brown tips. Cult. ex hort. Waimea Arboretum.
