National Tropical Botanical Garden in Lawai Valley, McBryde Garden, Maidenhair Falls Rubiaceae area on E side of Lawai Stream.
Plant Description:
Shrub 2 m, branches erect branched near base, leaves in clusters (pseudowhorls), dark glossy agreen above, paler below. Flowers cauligerous and ramigerous, monoecious, w slight fruity odor (6 pm); receptacle green w reddish-purple tinge; males 4-fid w stamens cream color, females w styles yellow pink. Origin Mauritius, Mondrain Reserve.
