Lihue-Koloa Forest Reserve; W side of Wahiawa drainage, below ridge between Hulua & Puuauuka, near rope on ridge.
Plant Description:
2 m tall shrub; in flower and immature fruit; rare in area.
Habitat:
Metrosideros lowland wet forest
Associated Species:
w/ Dubautia imbricata, Dubautia pauciflorula, Melicope cf. quadrangularis, Hesperomannia, Cyanea remyi, Cyanea undulata, Cyanea kolekoleensis, Viola helenae, Pritchardia, Syzygium, Antidesma, Cheirodendron, Hedyotis, Broussaisia, Labordia tinifolia, Eurya, Platydesma rostrata, Scaevola mollis, Cyrtandra spp., sedges, grasses, and bryophytes are common with epiphytes growing within the shrub layer.
