Plant Description:
Low shrub 1 m tall, leaves with glossy coating, mature fruits reddish. Occasional locally in clearings, indigenous.
Habitat:
Low stunted mixed mesophytic forest with Metrosideros dominant and large, open areas around steam and sulphur vents.
