Locality:
National Tropical Botanical Garden in Lawai Valley. McBryde Garden, native Hawaiian section along W side of road.
Plant Description:
Shrub or small tree 1.5-2 m tall. Leaves light green, many damaged and eaten by rose beetles. Calyx purple, epicalyx lobes purple w green tips. Corolla chrome yellow w purple center; staminal column & stigmas yellow. Cultivated, from seed collected by S. Perlman on Hawaii Island, at Puu Waawaa. NTBG acc. #990807
