Plant Description:
Tree to 8 m, dbh 50 cm, flowers white, young fruits green, turning light yellow whitish. N.V. uhpwul [Pohnpeian]
Ethnobotanical Notes:
Construction Material. Make crossbars in local houses.
Fruit. Earache. Use on earache. Squeeze drops of fruit inside ear to treat.
Leaves. Cuts. Use on cuts. Cuts--chew leaf or crush in hand, mash up. Put in cut and wrap on wound with coconut leaf base fiber or pandanus roots or banana petiole. Use in morning, change in afternoon until bleeding stops. Depends on size of cut, 1, 2, 3 days on cut.
Stem. Tool. Use stick (wooden stem) to dehusk coconuts.
Habitat:
Daied, mangrove swamp along sea wall.
