Plant Description:
Tree, about 5 m, grown along roadside on homestead. Leaf dark green - glossy upper, lighter green under. Opposite leaf. Fruit bumpy with segment like keys. N.V. Weipwul [Pohnpeian]
Ethnobotanical Notes:
Leaves. Medicine. Leaves for child sickness. Gather 2 leaves, pound, put into a piece of cloth, squeeze in a cup of water and let the child to drink. One cup a day for 8 days.
Young fruits. Other Genitourinary system disorders/effects. Young fruit for uterus problem. Gather 4 fruits, pound, put into a piece of cloth.
Young shoots. Medicine. Buds use for calming fussy babies. Gather 4 buds or young shoots, rub in your hands and add with local oil and rub on the babies skin. Twice a day for four days. Squeeze in a cup of water and drink for 8 days.
Habitat:
Agroforest dominated by coconut, betelnut and breadfruit.
