Small tree 2 m tall, branches decussate. Leaves glossy above . Corolla tube pale green, lobes white. Compound fruit green turning waxy white and foetid when ripe. Indigenous, common . Samoan name: nonu.

Coastal strand forest over coral sand & basalt boulders.
Associated Species:
With Hernandia nymphaeifolia, Thespesia populnea, Pandanus tectorius, Tournefortia argentea, Morinda, mixed with plantings of Cocos, Artocarpus & Musa, understory of Vigna, Phymatosorus, Tacca, Epipremnum.
