Plant Description:
Shrub to 3m tall, dbh 6cm; flowers bright red. N. V. Keteou; Ketieu
Ethnobotanical Notes:
Flowers: Antidote for crown of thorns starfish sting. Use 43 flower heads, put in boiling water, 1 pot full (gallon) allow to cool, then put foot in for 5 hours. Put foot on top of flowers, step on them, it is said to suck up poison, after 5 hours, spinees will come out as well as poison.
Habitat:
Secondary Forest (Nansapw) being cut for agroforestry plot.
