3 km inland from main road (turnoff is at Wenik School) along side road to Sahwurlap and Sahwartik Falls, then along footpath to plateau above waterfalls; elev. 160-190 m.
Plant Description:
Understory treelet 3 m tall. Inflorescence & infructescence axes carmine, corlla limb red fading to orange. Unripe fruit green. Locally common in understory.
Habitat:
Lowland wet forest and old growth agroforest.
Associated Species:
With Pangium, Parenari, Pandanus, Cyathea, Syzygium, Eugenia Freycinetia, Maesa, Cananga odorata, Clinostigma ponapensis, Pittosporum, Ixora, Angiopteris, Tectaria.
