Tree 4m tall, stem 30 cm in diameter, flowers white, fruits greenish. N.V. Ihd [Pohnpeian]
Ethnobotanical Notes:
Branches. Kindling. Cut a big branch and a small one that is 2 cm in diameter and 20 cm long. Then the big one is carved on one side where the small branch can be pointed and pushed. Pull up and down with maximum energy against the carved side until it burns or makes (starts) the fire. Informant: Masawo Silbanuz, Pohnpei, Madolenihmw councilman, male, 62 years old.
