Up eastern side gulch of main Hanakapiai stream, before Hanakapiai falls. Towards the back of gulch, on the left side. HIB WAI HAN B 0005.
Plant Description:
Tree, about 28 feet tall. Forks into two main branches from the base. In flower.
Population Area:
10-100 m2
Habitat:
Growing with mixed native and non-native plant species along side of stream.
Associated Species:
W/ Psidium guajava, Clidemia hirta, Aleurites moluccanus, Freycinetia arborea, Hedychium gardnerianum, Metrosideros polymorpha, Pisonia sandwicensis, Cordyline fruticosa, Dicranopteris linearis, Rubus argutus, Piper methysticum, Antidesma platyphyllum, Ipomoea batatas, Selaginella sp., Cyrtandra sp.

This is a HSPC focal species. Plant was flagged and tagged with number 'HIB WAI HAN IAI B 0005'. Two voucher specimens, DNA material and one cutting collected. NTBG accession #20160205.
