Vicinity of Kosrae Village Resort, ca. 1.5-2 km N of Malem village. Elev. 1-2 m.
Plant Description:
Tree 6 m, knee roots present, no prop roots, bark green, lenticellate. Leaves dark glossy green above, discolorous. Calyx red without, stamens & petals white, fruit radicle green. Abundant, from high tide line to mangrove forest.
Habitat:
Coastal forest on coral rubble fringing mangrove vegetation inside on coral sand and mucky soil substrate.
Associated Species:
With canopy of Sonneratia alba, also Rhizophora spp. Bruguiera, Barringtonia spp., Pandanus, Cocos nucifera, and Derris.
