Haeleele Valley, about 1.5 miles up from Polihale, on the left, SW facing slope.
Plant Description:
Tree about 25 feet tall. Healthy. In fruit.
Habitat:
Dry, Erythrina sandwicensis - Sapindus oahuensis dominated forest. Predominately non-native understory of Leucaena leucocephala and Lantana camara. On a gradual, SW facing slope with an open canopy.
Associated Species:
W/ Erythrina sandwicensis, Sapindus oahuensis, Psydrax odorata, Lantana camara, Leucaena leucocephala, Diospyros sandwicensis, Acacia confusa, Grevillea robusta, Melia azedarach
Comments:
Collected 11 seeds, 4 voucher specimens, 2 of which are sterile, and DNA.
