Locality:
Up eastern side gulch of main Hanakapiai stream, before Hanakapiai falls. Then up secondary gulch to the right, then next smaller gulch to the right, on left side.
Plant Description:
Tree with three equal sized branching splitting from base. One of those main branches forking a foot above the surface. HIB WAI HAN IAI B 0013. About 15 feet away from B 0012.
Phenology:
In bud and flower
Habitat:
Open canopy growing with mixed native and non-native plant species on rocky substrate with moderate slope.
Associated Species:
W/ Pisonia sandwicensis, Clidemia hirta, Freycinetia arborea, Lantana camara, Cyclosorus parasiticus, Dioscorea sp., Pipturus albidus.
Comments:
This is a HSPC focal species. Plant was flagged and tagged with number HIB WAI HAN IAI B 0013. Two voucher specimens and DNA material collected. Tagged on tree. Japanese white eye observed in tree.
