Locality:
Lower Limahuli Valley. On ridge to the left about 20 minutes and contouring from gulch where 0010 and 0011 are located and about 15 feet down slope from 0012.
Plant Description:
Small tree about 12 feet tall with many mature fruit (open capsules). Looks like three small shrubs in a clump but they are all connected as base under uluhe fern.
Habitat:
Open ridge in full sun. Growing out of thick Dicranopteris linearis with other native and non-native species nearby.
Associated Species:
W/ Dicranopteris linearis, Pisonia sandwicensis, Psidium cattleianum, Pipturus sp., Clidemia hirta, Schefflera actinophylla, Spathodea campanulata, Psychotria sp.
Comments:
This is a HSPC focal species. Plant was flagged and tagged with number HIB WAI HAN LIM A 0013. Two voucher specimens in fruit, 7 seeds and DNA material collected.
