Locality:
Mahaulepu area of SE Kauai. Along cliffs just south of CMJ Country Stables. Right on the cliff edge, directly south of/below 0003, 0004, 0005, and 0007.
Plant Description:
Large sprawling shrub, about 12x10 feet diameter spread. Many flowers and immature fruits. Vigorous. CAP SAN MAH A 0008.
Phenology:
In bud, flower and immature fruit
Habitat:
About 20 meters from edge of lithified sandstone cliffs. Windswept and full sun, mixed native and non-native vegetation.
Associated Species:
W/ Scaevola taccada, Leucaena leucocephala, Euphorbia degeneri, Branta sandvicensis, weedy grasses.
Comments:
This is a HSPC focal species. Plant was flagged and tagged with CAP SAN MAH A 0008. One voucher specimen and DNA material collected. One immature fruit bagged.
