Locality:
Southern Koolau Mountains, on Hawaii Loa Ridge Trail, just past Psidium stand and before going down into Dicranopteris and native zone.
Plant Description:
15ft. tall tree. With dark leaf mines and few caterpillars rolling the edge of the leaf and silking it shut. Caterpillar from Lama on appears to have dropped onto nearby Lehua, forming silk tent on upper leaf surface in midrib.

Metrosideros - Dicranopteris Lowland Forest

Psidium, Schinus, Eugenia, Syzygium, Psychotria, Polyscias, Scaevola, Leptocaphylla, Alyxia, Psychotria, Kadua affinis, Euphorbia, Bidens, Osteomeles, Carex.
