Terrestrial, short rhizomatous fern about 10 inches tall. Fertile, with many spores. Three smaller, infertile ferns within 1 square meter vicinity. NTBG accession #20150737

Habitat:
Mesic, mixed native and non-native forest (predominantly native). In understory with about 75-85% canopy cover. On side of moderate slope.

W/ Neraudia melastomifolia, Grevillea sp., Dodonaea viscosa, Metrosideros polymorpha, Acacia koa, Chrysodracon sp., Alyxia stellata, Kadua affinis, K. knudsenii, Planchonella sandwicensis, Antidesma platyphyllum, Melicope peduncularis, Erigeron karvinskianus, Lantana camara
Comments:
Three smaller, infertile ferns within 1 square meter vicinity. Larger, fertile individual was vouchered and spores collected (NTBG accession #20150737).
