National Park of American Samoa, Saua site, transect at 2000-2750 m from N entrance heading toward Siu Point; Elev. 10-13 ft, 3-4 m.
Plant Description:
Mid-stratum tree 6 m x 8 cm, trunk black, fruits green, globose-depressed, sap from cut fruit burns skin!! Abundant, indigenous.

Habitat:
Advanced secondary coastal forest on coral rubble.
Associated Species:
With primary components incl. Dysoxylum samoense, Ficus scabra, Diospyros, Psychotria insularum, Pisonia grandis, Barringtonia asiatica, Meryta macrophylla, ground cover of Asplenium nidus, and Piper graeffii.
