Locality:
NNW sector of island, trail from Leaumasili Point toward Piumafua Mountain along Alei Ridge near abandoned Sili Uta village site; elevation 150-180 m.
Plant Description:
Tree 8 m tall, trunk 20 cm dby, gray-black. Leaves dark green. Fruit globose, green ripening orange, with 4-6 seeds. Indigenous, locally abundant. N.V. "`Au`auli [Samoan]."
Habitat:
Secondary evergreen wet forest on level area.
Associated Species:
Cultivated remnants including Mangifera, Cocos, Inocarpus, Pandanus, Artocarpus, mixed with native trees including Alphitonia, Rhus, Tarenna, Ficus, and Diospyros.
