Puu Ka Pele Forest Reserve on W side of Waimea Canyon, 11.3 miles N of Waimea, just E of Hwy 550; Alt. 1050-900 m.
Plant Description:
Tree 4m tall, new leaves reddish. Fruits greenish yellow, 1-3 seeded. Occasional locally.
Habitat:
Steep slopes and open grassy areas with remnants of dry mixed mesophytic forest of Acacia koa, Metrosideros, and Myrsine.
