Na Pali-Kona Forest Reserve. Along ridge east of Pihea peak towards Kilohana.
Plant Description:
Single-stemmed, monocarpic shrub of 6 ft. Leaves dark green above (some leaves with purple midrib) with purple glands along margin, below dull pale green. Pedicel green with some magenta colour. Corolla dark magenta; filaments magenta; stamens purple; style pale green, stigma purple. Common along crest of ridge.
Habitat:
Rain forest dominated by Metrosideros and Dubautia knudsenii subsp. knudsenii.
