Namolokama Mountain, summit plateau.
Plant Description:
Monocarpic herb 1 m. tall, woody at base. Petioles and midrib purple, latex white. Inflorescence terminal (taken from adjacent dead plant). Scattered populations on windward (N) slope of plateau, endemic.
Habitat:
Low, wet elfin cloud forest of Metrosideros spp., Cheirodendron and Pelea spp. trees covered by bryophytes, interspersed with low shrubland of Metrosideros, Myrsine, and Vaccinium, and open boggy areas with native herbs (Oreobolus, Dichanthelium, Viola)
