Plant Description:
Massive tree of 60 ft. with trunk 1 m in dia.; leaves dark matte green above with yellowish-white midvein, below matte pale green with raised yellowish midvein; immature fruit dull pale green. Seed collected from ground below tree.
Habitat:
Lower trail through agroforest. Above that native lowland wet forest.
Associated Species:
Cocos, breadfruit, Cananga, Hibiscus tiliaceus with yam and sakau plantings to 150 m. elev. With Cananga, Calophyllum, Pittosporum, Cynometra, Macaranga, Pandanus, Piper, and Flagellaria.
