Tree to 30 m, dbh 40 cm; flowers orange. N.V. "African tulip tree [English]."
Ethnobotanical Notes:
Wood: Construction material. Posts in small cooking houses ("Imwen kuk") Informants: Robert David, Pohnpei, male, 45 years old; Katarina Tom, Pohnpei, female, 39 years old. She was chosen to learn in the family, taught by grandfather, Sohnis Ihda.
Habitat:
Nansapw-secondary forest with trees to 40-50 m tall.
