Tree, 4 m tall, stem 10 cm in diameter, white flower, red fruit. N.V. doaloa rice [Pohnpeian].
Ethnobotanical Notes:
Food Colorant. Used as red food coloring for rice. Take as many fruits as needed, cut them open and take the seeds and place in a pot of rice and boil it, then the rice will turn red. Informant: Maria Amor: Pohnpei. Female.
